Who should attend? Anyone who has never used Word before (or any other word processing package).
Training Requirements
Delegates must be confident in using the keyboard and mouse
Aim
By the end of the course, you will be confident in using the essential features of Word to create and alter simple documents. For example, letters, memos and reports.
What you will learn
- In particular you will be able to:
- Create save close open and print documents
- Change the way your text looks to make headings and other important information stand out and then copy this formatting from one heading to another
- Get Word to spell check your document
- Move and copy sections of text around the document and into other documents
- Alter the layout of the page, change margins and use page breaks
- Create a list with automatic bullet points (just like this) or numbers
- Add standard text and page numbers to the top and bottom of each page of your document

Microsoft Word Training – Intermediate
Who should attend?
Anyone who has used Word before to create and alter simple documents.
Training Requirements
Delegates must be confident in using a keyboard and a mouse. Additionally you must have used Word before and be familiar with entering text, basic text formatting, cut/copy and paste and simple page layout (see our Word Essentials outline).
Aim
By the end of the course, you will be confident in going beyond the basic features of Word to improve text and page layout of your documents and create personalised mailings to groups of people.
What you will learn
- In particular you will be able to:
- Use keyboard shortcuts to improve your speed with certain tasks
- Automatically put ‘standard’ text into your documents with one press of the keyboard and correct your most regular typing errors
- Alter the position and layout of your text
- Create a list with automatic numbers on more than one level, for example 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2, 2.1, 2.2 etc
- Lay text out in columns with borders and using shading
- Create personalised mailings and labels to groups of people using names and addresses

Microsoft Word Training – Advanced
Who should attend?
Anyone who has used Word before to create and alter text and page layout.
Training Requirements
Delegates must be confident in using a keyboard, Windows and a mouse. Additionally you must have used Word before and be familiar with basic text formatting, cut/copy and paste, simple page layout, simple headers and footers and creating and altering tables (see our Word Intermediate outline).
Aim
By the end of the course you will be able to create a template to automate your work. The template will include styles, table of contents, an index, and word fields. You will also be able to create bookmarks and hyperlinks to other documents.
What you will learn
- In particular you will be able to:
- Improve the layout of your text and page
- Use, create & amend standard automated documents, for example memos, faxes, forms etc
- Use & create consistent headings throughout long documents
- Create a list of the contents of the document with page numbers
- Move very quickly around long documents
- Use a particular view of your document that lets you choose to work with parts of the document (for example, see the headings only)
- Track any amendments that happen in a document
