As you can see from the picture The Modern Desktop can be accessed from a variety of devices and has the choice of Windows 7 or 8.  Security is built in and as for productivity apps, we have Microsoft Office 365 together with SkyDrive which allow use of regular Office Applications from anywhere with the ability to store documents on-line and access them from anywhere and any device.

Where do you start?

First off you need to test current applications with Windows 7 and Windows 8 alongside planning for migration.

Develop and pilot Windows 8 Applications.

Start Deployment Planning – Evaluate Windows 8 alongside your current systems and get a plan in place which takes account of downtime, swapping over to the new Operating System and making sure that all of your business applications will continue to function in the new environment.

Do remember to plan for staff training as well – making sure to reduce downtime and productivity once the upgrade is in place.

The Modern Desktop is evolving with new ways to use your software and access your data from anywhere.
