How to search for an email

Have you ever needed to refer to an email that you received a while ago and you can’t remember where it is in your filing system then this tip is for you!

Finding your email

This tip is written for Microsoft Outlook 2010 – a short introduction to searching for email.

1) Above the inbox is the search bar (see below)

Search for email

 

 

 

 

 

2) Start to type what you are looking for into the search box

 A search Ribbon appears (see below)

Items searched for are highlighted

 

 

 

Any text that Outlook finds with your text is highlighted

You can try out the other search areas form the ribbon. Search within From, Subject line, you can even search for items by date like received this week, last week etc.
