Here are some steps to follow when you want to use The Name a Box in Microsoft Excel 2010.

The Name Box

ExcelName1

The name box (1) sits beside the Formula bar and tells you the cell you are currently in.

Naming the cell

ExcelName2

It can sometimes make more sense to give a cell or cells a name.

To name a cell:

  1. Select the cell(s) to name (1)
  2. Click into the Name box on the formula bar
  3. Type the name for the cell(s) (2)
  4. Press Enter
