Make a great first impression

When you go to a meeting or a party, you take pains to make sure you are looking your best. If you are female, you probably have your hair done, wear your best colours and favourite lipstick. You probably have a signature look.

If you are male, you will also have your favourite things, you will polish your shoes, perhaps put a coloured handkerchief in your jacket pocket to match your tie.

When your organization sends out documents, be they word documents, spread sheets, presentations or simple emails they should also be polished.

The saying goes that you never get a second chance to make a first impression!

Your company may have spent a small fortune on eye catching stationery, a great website, fabulous marketing brochures but if the documents that go out are sloppy that will not matter at all and will be a waste.

By investing in training for your staff you can ensure that they understand the importance of the “house style” and what it says about the company. You can ensure a consistent look and feel across all the output from your company making a much more polished and professional impression.

The first written contact your client has with you may be by email or a Word Document. Make sure that they are consistent and professional – or you will lose that chance to make a great impression!

Thanks Henry, I really believe that training your staff to appreciate and understand the company brand and values will help to get everyone behind the organisation and ultimately ensure that presentation is correct and on message.
    Cheers
